6 Favourite Cities, 6 Photographs

You all know by now that London is one of my favourite cities.. but what about some of my other favourite places to visit? Well the Numbers challenge is great way for to tell you…

Christchurch

Ok so to be fair adding my own hometown is kind of cheating but I still get a thrill each time I fly into the city. The city is constantly changing due to the rebuild from the earthquakes and I think its definitely a place to watch. Christchurch is also a great gateway to the rest of the stunning South Island and, in my completely biased opinion, the best city in New Zealand.

Hamburg

Hamburg

I definitely fell in love with Hamburg when I visited last year. My only regret is that I didn’t spend longer in the city. From what I saw, it seemed like a really well laid out city and had some really gorgeous buildings. Plus it was one of the few times I actually saw blue sky during my whole trip.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh

Edinburgh had been on my bucket list for a very long time – mainly because I had always wanted to go to the Edinburgh Tattoo but when I got there, I was really surprised by how stunning it actually was. I loved the people, the architecture and the atmosphere… must be all that Scottish blood from my ancestors.

Oxford

Oxford, UK

Oxford is one of those places that you hear about or see pictures off and can’t quite believe it actually exists. And then you get there, and you still can’t quite believe it. Oxford was my first taste of England outside of London and it could not have been more different. This is what you picture when you think of England.

Melbourne

Melbourne is definitely my favourite Aussie city. Every time I go the city, I forget just how big it is but at the same time, the central city is quite compact – thanks in part to the great grid system they have there. The easiest way to get around is the city’s famous trams – which are actually free within the CBD, and they can take you most places, including the famous suburb of St Kilda. Another great thing to do is walk along the Southbank promenade – especially at night when it literally gets fired up!

Bath

Bath, UK

Bath is beautiful, it’s Georgian, it’s compact.. but it’s a horrible city to drive around. I’ve done it twice now and I remembered the second time why I hated it the first time! But it doesn’t take away from the fact that Bath is a stunning place to visit.

So there you have it. Six of my favourite places to visit. These are all cities that I could easily go back to time and time again.

Do you have any favourite places that you just love going back to?
