About Me

Edited 07/01/20

I thought it was about time I updated the ‘About Me’ blurb because it’s been ages since I wrote the last one and you know.. a change is as good as a holiday (said by someone who doesn’t go on many holidays I imagine!). Anyway… about me…

I am a Kiwi living in Aussie (but I am and always will be a New Zealander!)

I love London, travel, photography & stationary (especially pens & notebooks)

I do not like long walks on the beach (hello… sand!) but I do like pina coladas (though it has be MANY a year since I last had one)

I come from a very large family and there are lots of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. But they all know that my favourite of them all is my great, great niece, who at time of writing is 1 & half years old and quite frankly, the coolest person I know.

I started this blog way back in 2014 as a travel blog to write about my travels but since then I feel like even though I still travel every year, I have more to say about other stuff so have decided to redesign this blog as more of a personal blog with travel thrown in.

I fell out of love with writing for a couple of years but I am finally ready to get back into it so hopefully this blog will be a reflection of that.

So after all that, thanks for popping in and hope to see you around the blogging halls

Sarah xo

  1. Hello Miss Kiwi! I Lo ve how you did a list to help us get to know you…it can be daunting figuring out what to say about yourself, but this list captures a lot in a fun way. I love the part about annoying your co-workers with the countdown to your next trip! How fun is that?! I would definitely be one of those co-workers cheering you on and counting down the days with you 🙂 happy travels!

      1. Today it’s overcast & meant to rain. It’s starting to get warmer. I actually hate summer here… it gets soooooooo hot!!!! At least Chch has some seasons. Brisbane is just varying types of heat haha

  3. Thanks for following OMBH… I hope you find a few smiles when you visit!
PS – If you think it’s annoying to be mistaken for an Ozzy… think again! I’m South African… in my case, folk usually begin with Ozzy… when I say no… they progress to Kewi. Mostly by then they’ve copped on but some have continued. I get Dutch and German too (strong Afrikaans background!)
    All good, clean fun!! 😉

    1. Haha I don’t feel so bad then.. I do remember once that I was asked if I was Scottish – no idea where that came from.. I’d rather be known as Scottish than Aussie tho.. haha

  4. I thought I would add you to the KIWIs (Auckland and Wanganui) which have popped into our life over the past twelve months. And how anyone could mistake the accents is beyond me. However, forty years ago, In London, I began to add ‘Australia’ when I told people I was from Victoria. I am sure I don’t sound Canadian! 🙂

    1. Aww thank you so much! I sometimes feel like I am not living up to my blog name because I only travel during holidays from work, not all the time. It took me a long time to start travelling so you just never know!!
