When I read Ailsa’s latest Travel Theme post I had to wonder “how the heck am I going to marry ‘precious’ and ‘travel’ together”… turns out, it wasn’t so hard after all once I started looking at my photos.
So when I think precious in relation to travel, I think about those moments that you capture that are one-off moments, like the time you came across these old fellas playing Boules in Bruges, Brussels:
Or the bubble guy in Cologne, Germany:
or these guys in Corfe Castle, England:
There have been other precious moments too:
Seeing holly in the home of my ancestors, Clyst St George, England
These laughing guys in Vancouver, Canada
Show-offs in Edinburgh, Scotland
Camera hogging in Timaru, New Zealand
Joyous moments in Copenhagen, Denmark
And of course the most precious of all.. new life in Karamea, New Zealand
What do you think? What is precious about travel to you?
I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂
I think those you chose to travel with make the time spent traveling precious. You’re making lasting memories together. What’s better than that!?

You nailed some precious here! Those sheep butts (I think they were sheep, I’m not a butt expert) are pretty sweet. Love the laughing dudes in Vancouver. I want to know the story behind them. The fiddle head just yells New Zealand to me. Well, maybe a fiddle head whispers. Yes, I think it whispers, but is easily heard.

If I remember correctly they were goats but they could have been sheep haha. The laughing dudes are do cool! They are called A-maze-ing Laughter & were part of a Vancouver sculpture festival I think. There are 14 of them and the face is the Chinese sculpters own face in various states of hilarity.. it was also one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. My hotel was just down the road & I went to visit these guys every day 😊

I would have visited them often, as well. Guaranteed to bring a smile to the face!
Goat butts, sheep butts. I know nothing!
