This weeks Travel Theme is Rain and oh I do love a rainy day and I love raindrops on windows.. I like to think it’s because of aesthetics (which FYI is my new favourite word) but I don’t think it’s really as deep as that šĀ
And of course when travelling, you will come across all kinds of weather – I even had snow on my last trip to London. Ok, ‘snow’ might have been a bit of a stretch but there was definitely white flakes falling from the sky so I’m sticking with “it snowed in London when I last visited”.
But my favourite is being on the inside looking out when it’s raining & seeing the raindrops on the window. So here are a few raindrop photos from around the place.
Taken from out the bus window during a torrential downpour on very dodgy roads in the middle of the Vietnam mountains.
Arriving back in a very wet Brisbane after a quick trip home for Christmas one year.
Started out as a gorgeous for a day trip to Loch Lomond from Edinburgh but as we travelled west, the rains came.
On a Rhine River boat tour in Cologne when it started raining
Doing a canal tour in Amsterdam – blue skies and sprinkles of rain
Taking the TranzAlpine through the South Island.. it was definitely warmer in the train!
Arriving in Arthur’s Pass where we proceed to be stranded for about 6 hours. Probably not the best travel story I have š
Torrential rain happens a lot in Brisbane
The amazing sunset after a massive storm in Vancouver. Some of the best sunsets I’ve seen where at English Bay
I just love the rain. ⤠I actually just wrote a post dedicated to rain myself, but I'm not sure if it will ever make it to my blog. Your pictures are as lovely as always. š

Thanks š One of my favourite things is waking up to a rainy day when I know I don’t have to go anywhere. I have also been known to walk in the rain after particularly bad days haha

What poetic images. I cannot decide which is my favourite. And uh oh, before I forget, here’s to snow and London š

Haha.. Ok I have to admit I was a little excited when I stepped outside my London hotel in February and noticed the white stuff falling from the sky. Unfortunately the ground was too wet for it to stick BUT I will forever be adamant that it snowed in London when I was there š

I don’t like the rain when I travel but it somehow gives a magical perspective. Excellent post!

It can be annoying when travelling for sure!

Great theme and I love the photos. Most travelers would dread a rainy day, but this slight perspective shift makes a profound difference. Really enjoyed this post!
