I’ve been trying to come up with the words to describe the Grand Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi and I am sadly falling very short.
The words ‘amazing’, ‘incredible‘, ‘mind-blowing’ don’t really seem to cut it. I guess the best I could do is to say three letters to you: O.M.G!
Yep…that’s all I got.
The mosque is the only one in Abu Dhabi that you can visit. Entrance is free and you can visit Saturday – Thursday from 9am – 10pm. It is a place of worship so you have to show respect when you do visit. Women are expected to be covered from head to toe and they do provide abaya to wear if you are not suitably dressed.
For anyone visiting the UAE, I’d definitely recommend a visit to the mosque – although, watch out for people with selfie sticks, remember where you put your shoes so you don’t think someone has stolen them and definitely visit at night time.
Here are just some of the photos I took of the mosque:
Wonderful place!
