Day 30: What Are Your Highs And Lows From The Month?

December is a funny month for me. I’m not really a festive person but every now & then Christmas will come bite me on the behind and I’ll be all “IT’S TRSITMAS!!!!!”

This month has definitely had it’s fair share of good & bad moments, so let’s start with the lows first:

Lows

George Michael! I mean WTF?!?!?!  I know 2016 has been the Year of Celebrity Death but did the singer who brought us Last Christmas really have to go on Christmas Day – that is some kind of cruel irony right there. George will forever be my first real love & Wham will always be my first favourite band.

Not being happy with where I am in life. To be fair, this is an ongoing scenario but it always rears it’s ugly head around this time when you reflect on the year that’s been.

My trip planning. I don’t know what else to say about it other than it didn’t quite work out how I wanted it to but on the other side of the coin, I am really happy with the plans I have now. At the time all the drama was happening though, it was not a fun time.

Not travelling as much as I normally would. Obviously for a variety of reasons but I didn’t go overseas (apart from NZ of course), which is unusual for me. Although I do believe things happen for a reason and now I have an awesome trip planned for the new year. So I guess things do work out.

Highs

Well getting pretty much 90% of my upcoming trip paid off is a real high for me. I’m not usually that organised when it comes to paying for things, which is ironic because I am very organised in other parts of travel.

I got to see 3 of my favourite comedians perform – Danny Bhoy, Dawn French & Bill Bailey. Each very different and each very brilliant.

I got to meet one of my favourite actors and was treated to hearing him sing – never in a million years did I think I would ever see Christian Kane sing but in September at Oz Comic Con, I did just that and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

Coming home for Christmas. I didn’t think I was going to be able to but I found a reasonable fare and decided to just do it.

Being home in Christchurch is always one of my favourite things
