Day 12: Write About Five Blessings In Your Life

So often we think about all the things that are going wrong in our lives or how our lives haven’t turned out like we thought they would..  but it’s always important to sit back and think about those things that we are grateful for as well..

1.My Family

My family is the most important thing in my life. We aren’t the most demonstrative family and we don’t say “I love you” a lot but I know they are there for me just like I’m there for them. Whilst we don’t get to see each other much because we’re spread all over, those times we are together we really do make the time count. I wouldn’t be where I am today without each & every one of them..

I ❤ my family!

2.My Friends

I have a really small group of friends but I love each and every one of them. I love that they accept me for who I am and have never judged me. I love that they encourage me and support me.

3.A Good Job

I might not always love my job and I might complain about it from time to time. The people I work with might annoy the crap out of me with their eating and food wrapper noise and sniffing and general being there BUT I am really lucky to have a good, decent job that allows me to have time off for my travels around the world. Overall I work with a good bunch of people and we do have some laughs along the way. I’ve made friends for life working in my job for the past 13 years & honestly I wouldn’t change that for that for anything.

Then again – ask me again in 12 months time!

4.Travelling

I don’t know if you know this about me, but I like to travel 😀 I have been so blessed over the last six years to be able to travel as much as I have – this goes back to point 3 & having a good job. I honestly never thought I would be able to go to places like Alaska or Bruges. I never saw myself heading to Vietnam or Copenhagen, but once I started, I kind of haven’t been able to stop. I’m not a ‘quit my job, sell my belongings & travel the world for years’ kind of gal but I love the travel that I have been able to do and the places that I have been able to go (some more than others!)

My bank account however, might not like this at all!

5.Being A Kiwi

I am so proud to be a Kiwi and I didn’t know how proud I was until I moved to another country. Look, every country has its bad parts (some more than others) but every country has its good parts too. I’m proud to come from a country that might be small in both land mass & population but are also world leaders in some areas. Yes I might live in Australia because the job opportunities are better but I truly believe that I would not be as proud to be a Kiwi if I hadn’t left the country and therefore realised just how great New Zealand really is.
