Photo Essay – North NSW Coast

A great day out (or weekend away) from Brisbane is the North New South Wales Coast.

Living in Brisbane we are kind of spoiled for choice when it comes to day trips – you can head north to the Sunshine Coast; west to places like Toowoomba or south to the Gold Coast. Driving just beyond the Gold Coast, however, will see  you crossing the border into NSW.

Just a couple of hours drive down the highway from central Brisbane will find you in the beachside towns of Fingal Head, Kingscliff or the more well known, Byron Bay.

Fingal Head

Fingal Head is not far from towns Coolangatta in Queensland and Tweed Heads in New South Wales. It is popular with surfers & has some of the most incredible coloured water I’ve seen at a beach.

Tarrow Creek

Tarrow Creek is just south of Byron Bay. We stayed at the Byron Bay Holiday Park and one morning I went for a walk to the beach. It took me longer than I thought but I went through some gorgeous scenery before alighting a the beach.

Byron Bay

Byron Bay is popular – really popular. It is the home of the many festivals such as BluesFest, Splendour in the Grass, and Falls Festival just to name a few. It is also a gorgeous spot and being just two hours from Brisbane, you actually do feel like you’ve been transported to another place. Oh and I love their lighthouse!
