Having just been to Brisbane Comic Con this weekend, today’s Daily Prompt is quite apt. So I thought I would share five things I am most passionate about.

New Zealand
They say that you don’t realise what you have until it’s gone, well I didn’t realise how awesome New Zealand was until I left and moved to Australia. I’ve always been proud to be a Kiwi but now I want everyone I meet to know I am from New Zealand.
Yes, I know New Zealand has flaws – what country doesn’t, but you have to look at what is good about it to realise that for all our gripes, New Zealand is one pretty amazing country.

Photography
I don’t think of myself as a photographer and I certainly don’t claim to be anything great when it comes to taking photos but I love seeing things through photographers eyes.
Case in point – my friend and I were driving through Brisbane the other night and I pointed out a really cool street sign. She said to me that she notices things more now because of me and the photos I take. I don’t think she realised what a huge compliment that was to me.
I also love sharing my photos, although at the time I post them I usually think they are pretty good and then I look back at them and realise they weren’t really that good at all (well in my mind anyway!).

London
I think it’s safe to say that pretty much everyone knows that I love London and that I am extremely passionate about that city. It’s a hard thing to explain why you are so passionate about a city that other’s can’t stand.
I don’t think I will ever be able to really explain why I love London so much but in a nutshell I’d have to say history. London is the focal point of so much world history – right from the roman times to the present day.
I grew up watching a lot of British based TV shows or reading London based books, so I guess it was just always one of those places I had to go. Once I got there, it was all over. I was in love and six years later that love affair is still going strong.

Fangirling
Yes I am admit it.. I am a fangirl. I think that over the past couple of years, despite some of my friends rolling their eyes at me, I have learned to embrace this side of my personality. I am obsessive and I get obsessed with TV shows & movies and therefore the actors who are in said TV shows & movies (yes and the occasional boy band!)
To be fair though, One Direction are not the first ‘boy band’ I’ve obsessed over. I was totally into New Kids on the Block back in the day, right down to the posters covering my wall – Jordan was my favourite, FYI.
And because of things like Comic Con, I can actually meet the people that are such a huge part of my life – even though I’m not even a blip on their radar, for a split second our worlds collide and life is perfect.

My Family
It seems quite cliche to say but it’s true. My family is the most important thing in my life. I love each & every one of those crazy people despite not being able to see them all the time. Although, not seeing each other all the time is probably the reason we all actually get on (for the most part).
Losing my dad nearly 9 years ago, I think has made us all realise that when we have the opportunity to catch up then we should take it. Which is extremely hard when you are the youngest of 8 children and all those children (well apart from me) have kids, and some of these kids have kids and you’re spread all over the world.. basically I have a really large family! But at the end of the day, I know they are there for me and I am there for them.
You can’t choose your family but I am sure glad I’ve been given the one I have.
