Ever taken a wrong turn and it ends up being the ‘right turn’?
I did that yesterday. I was driving to my friends place to meet her for a day trip. I was pretty sure I knew which road to turn down, having only been there once before.
But I didn’t.
I got the wrong road.. but that’s ok because it turned out to be a good thing.
I found this place:
I was running late to meet my friend so I didn’t stop at the time. I got to my friend’s place, we went on our road trip and afterwards I collected my car and went back to take a photo of the building.
Now, I have to admit something – I’m a very lazy photographer. If I don’t have to get out of the car to take a photo, then I won’t! Also by the time I got back here it was raining and cold so I really didn’t want to get out of the car.
Trouble was, I was on the wrong side of the car to get a good photo so I had to go around the roundabout a couple of times to work out the best way of getting this shot.
I’m going to paint a picture here:
Rakaia is a small New Zealand town – I mean tiny. I don’t know how many people live there but I’m gonna say about 20 – ok it’s more than 20 but you get the picture.. it’s small. It was raining and cold, as I mentioned before, so you wouldn’t expect that many people to be out.
I think people heard there was a crazy person driving round & round the roundabout and decided to see what it was all about.. because in the space of about 5 minutes, I came across about 10 people!
Anyway, I finally ended up on the opposite side of the roundabout to the building to get this shot.. and I have to say, I’m pretty darn happy with it.
So in this case, taking a wrong turn did, in fact, turn out to be a good thing.
