I’m home. Only for a few days but I’m home…
I love coming home. I always feel refreshed as soon as I arrive and always a wee bit sad when I leave.
When I think of my hometown, there are a few songs that come to mind:
Rhythm of My Heart – Rod Stewart
Oh the rhythm of my heart is beating like a drum
with the words “I love you” rolling off my tongue
No never will I roam for I know my place is home
where the ocean meets the sky I’ll be sailing
The chorus really gets me every time I hear this song.
Home – American Authors
I’ve got these letters tattooed on my arm
That remind me each second of where I come from
And the long hard road to guide me back home
I don’t have letters tattooed on my arm but I will be getting the co-ordinates tattooed on my arm.
Making Memories – Josh Devine & Ollie Green
Out on the beach
Sand on my feet
I know I’m home
That line always makes me think of one particular photo. I’m not a beach person but whenever I’m home, I have to go down to New Brighton Beach & set my eyes on the pier.
My Love – Westlife
So I say a little prayer
And hope my dreams will take me there
Where the skies are blue, to see you once again… my love.
Overseas from coast to coast
To find the place I Love The Most
Where the fields are green, to see you once again… my love.
This became especially more poignant when I moved to another country
Back Home – Andy Grammer
See, we won’t forget where we came from
The city won’t change us
We beat to the same drum
No, we won’t forget where we came from
The city can’t change us
We beat to the same drum, the same drum
This song always makes me think of home whenever/wherever I hear it. Plus it’s a freaking cool video!
Theme from the Crusader – Scribe
Uh, I’m from Christchurch the place of my birth
My home this earth, represent my peeps and their worth
That pretty much says it all really. An oldie but a goodie.
Do you have songs that remind you of your hometown?
