I have been on Instagram for 268 weeks and I have just hit the 500 followers mark.
Admittedly, when I first started on Instagram back in July 2011, I only had family & friends following me. Now I have people from all over the world thanks to various other social media engagements.
I’ve come a long way from that first post. I only had one like and one comment plus I used the good old Instagram editing options. I didn’t know any better. And probably more telling, the first photo was from London.
I’ve come a long way – for me anyway.
In October 2014 I rebranded my Instagram from being ‘seznz’ (my usual social media moniker) to ‘kiwiontheloose’, the name I use for all my travel related pages.
I’m not going to say that it has been easy to get to 500 followers because it’s been darn hard. When I had rebranded, I wanted to hit the 200 followers mark by the end of January 2015, which I did. It’s taken me another 19 months to get to 500 and I have to say, I’m pretty damn proud of where I’ve come from.
When I first posted this next photo in November 2012, I got 5 likes. I recently reposted it, complete with a load of hastags & slightly different editing, and it is now my most liked photo:
Funnily enough London features heavily in my Instagram
